Knoxville, Tennessee – The Tennessee Volunteers baseball team is gearing up for the 2025 season, and the roster for Opening Day has been finalized.
The Vols, who are looking to build on last year’s successful campaign, have a talented and experienced group of players ready to take the field.
The Vols’ roster is led by a strong core of returning players, including senior outfielder Drew Gilbert, junior infielder Trey Lipscomb, and sophomore pitcher Chase Dollander. Gilbert, who hit .317 with 10 home runs and 45 RBIs last season, is expected to be one of the top hitters in the Southeastern Conference.
Lipscomb, who hit .284 with 7 home runs and 35 RBIs last season, is a versatile infielder who can play multiple positions. Dollander, who went 8-2 with a 3.38 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 77.1 innings last season, is expected to be the Vols’ ace pitcher.
The Vols also have a talented group of newcomers, including freshman outfielder Christian Moore, freshman infielder Gavin Brasosky, and junior college transfer pitcher Andrew Lindsey. Moore, who was a highly touted recruit out of high school, is expected to make an immediate impact in the Vols’ outfield.
Brasosky, who was a standout player at his junior college, is expected to compete for playing time at second base. Lindsey, who was a dominant pitcher in junior college, is expected to be a key contributor to the Vols’ bullpen.
