The Tennessee Volunteers basketball team and coaching staff made a generous donation to the V Foundation in honor of Dick Vitale’s return to Rocky Top. The V Foundation, which was founded by Vitale and ESPN, is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.

The $10,000 donation was made in recognition of Vitale’s long-standing relationship with the University of Tennessee and his contributions to the world of college basketball. Vitale, who is a legendary basketball announcer and analyst, has been a vocal supporter of the Vols and has often referred to Rocky Top as one of his favorite places to visit.

“We are thrilled to make this donation to the V Foundation in honor of Dickie V’s return to Rocky Top,” said Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes. “Dickie V is a true legend in the world of college basketball, and his passion and enthusiasm for the game are contagious. We are grateful for his support of our program and his commitment to finding a cure for cancer.”

The V Foundation was founded in 1993 by Vitale and ESPN, and it has since become one of the leading cancer research organizations in the country. The foundation has awarded over $250 million in cancer research grants and has helped to fund numerous cancer research initiatives.

Vitale, who is a cancer survivor himself, has been a tireless advocate for cancer research and awareness. He has worked closely with the V Foundation to raise funds and awareness for cancer research, and he has been recognized for his efforts with numerous awards and honors.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for the generous donation made by the Tennessee basketball team and coaching staff,” Vitale said. “The V Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for cancer, and donations like this one bring us one step closer to achieving that goal. I am proud to be associated with a program like Tennessee, which values giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the world.”

The donation was made possible through the efforts of the Tennessee basketball team and coaching staff, who came together to raise funds for the V Foundation. The team held a series of fundraising events and activities, including a charity game and a silent auction, to raise money for the donation.

“We are proud to be able to make this donation to the V Foundation,” said Tennessee guard Santiago Vescovi. “Dickie V is a legend in the world of college basketball, and his commitment to finding a cure for cancer is inspiring. We are honored to be able to support his efforts and to make a positive impact on the world.”

The donation is a testament to the Tennessee basketball team’s commitment to giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the world. The team’s efforts to raise funds for the V Foundation demonstrate their dedication to supporting important causes and making a difference in the lives of others.

As Vitale returns to Rocky Top, he will be greeted with a warm welcome and a generous donation to the V Foundation.
