_Kim Caldwell Addresses Talaysia Cooper’s Injury for Lady Vols Basketball_

Tennessee Lady Vols basketball head coach Kim Caldwell addressed the media on Wednesday to provide an update on the injury status of freshman guard Talaysia Cooper. Cooper, who has been a key contributor off the bench for the Lady Vols this season, suffered an injury during Tennessee’s 72-69 loss to Georgia on Sunday.

According to Caldwell, Cooper’s injury is a lower-leg injury that will keep her sidelined for the foreseeable future. Caldwell did not provide a specific timeline for Cooper’s return, but said that the team’s medical staff is working to get her back on the court as soon as possible.

“Talaysia is a big part of our team, and we’re going to miss her while she’s out,” Caldwell said. “But we’re also confident that our medical staff will get her back to full strength in no time.”

Cooper’s injury is a significant blow to the Lady Vols, who have relied on her scoring and playmaking abilities off the bench this season. The freshman guard has averaged 8.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 44.7% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range.

However, Caldwell is confident that the Lady Vols have the depth and talent to overcome Cooper’s absence. Tennessee has a number of other talented guards on its roster, including Jordan Horston, Rickea Jackson, and Jasmine Powell, who will be called upon to pick up the slack while Cooper is out.

“We’ve got a lot of talented players on this team, and we’re confident that they’ll be able to step up and fill the void while Talaysia is out,” Caldwell said. “We’re going to miss her, but we’re also excited to see how our other players respond to the challenge.”

The Lady Vols will be back in action on Friday, when they take on the Ole Miss Rebels in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. Tennessee will be looking to bounce back from its loss to Georgia, and to make a deep run in the tournament.

Despite Cooper’s injury, Caldwell is confident that the Lady Vols have what it takes to make a run in the tournament. Tennessee has a talented and experienced roster, and has been one of the top teams in the SEC all season long.

“We’re excited to get back out on the court and compete,” Caldwell said. “We know it won’t be easy, but we’re confident that we have what it takes to make a deep run in the tournament.”

The Lady Vols will be without Cooper for the foreseeable future, but they’re confident that they have the talent and depth to overcome her absence. Tennessee will look to make a statement in the SEC Tournament, and to prove that they’re one of the top teams in the country.

“We’re going to miss Talaysia, but we’re also excited to see how our other players respond to the challenge,” Caldwell said. “We’re confident that we have what it takes to make a deep run in the tournament, and we’re excited to get back out on the court and compete.”
