“BRICE SENSABAUGH: OHIO STATE’S STAR FRESHMAN ENTERS NBA DRAFT”
The Ohio State Buckeyes’ men’s basketball program has been a hotbed for NBA talent in recent years, and it appears that another talented young player is ready to take the leap to the next level. Brice Sensabaugh, the Buckeyes’ star freshman forward, has officially declared for the 2024 NBA draft, ending his collegiate career after just one season in Columbus.
Sensabaugh’s decision to enter the draft comes as no surprise, given his impressive performance on the court this season. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound forward averaged 16.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, earning him a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and a third-team All-Big Ten selection.
“Brice is a talented young player who has a bright future ahead of him,” said Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann. “We’re proud of the progress he made during his time here, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for him.”
Sensabaugh’s journey to the NBA draft has been a remarkable one. A highly touted recruit out of high school, Sensabaugh chose Ohio State over a number of other top programs, citing the Buckeyes’ strong tradition of developing NBA talent.
“I knew that Ohio State was a place where I could come and develop my skills, and get ready for the next level,” Sensabaugh said. “Coach Holtmann and the rest of the coaching staff did a great job of helping me improve my game, and I’m grateful for the experience I had here.”
Sensabaugh’s decision to enter the draft is likely to have a significant impact on the Buckeyes’ roster next season. The team will lose its leading scorer and rebounder, and will need to find a way to replace Sensabaugh’s production.
However, Holtmann is confident that the Buckeyes have the talent and depth to overcome Sensabaugh’s departure. “We’ve got a talented young core of players, and we’re excited to see how they develop next season,” Holtmann said.
As for Sensabaugh, he’s focused on preparing himself for the next level. He’s been working out with a number of NBA trainers and coaches, and is confident that he has the skills and talent to succeed in the league.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to pursue my dream of playing in the NBA,” Sensabaugh said. “I know it’s going to be a challenge, but I’m ready to put in the work and do whatever it takes to succeed.”
