Bruno Fernandes has opened his heart to Paul Pogba after completing his contract with Juventus.
The 31-year-old former Manchester United midfielder is expected to be cleared to play competitive games from March after returning to first-team training after his doping ban expired in January.
Pogba was suspended by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal (Nado) in February after a random drug test revealed he had elevated testosterone levels.
The France national team appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which reduced the ban from four years to 18 months from September 2023. He returns to Juventus after suspending his contract in Turin until June 2026
. However, Pogba has now agreed to terminate his contract with the Italian giants by mutual consent and become a free agent.
The former Manchester United star announced his departure from Juventus on Instagram last week. “Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, but one thing is certain,” he said in an official statement. “Dear fans, your connection with me will be unforgettable,” he said. “You have given me more than I can ever say and I will always carry with me all the love you have given me. Good luck @juventus.”
The post received more than 1 million likes, and team members, former teammates and fans expressed their support in the comments. Fernandez had one message that stood out. The United captain revealed his true colours. “You’re amazing as a player, but you’re even more amazing as a person (red heart emoji).”
Juventus released their own statement to confirm Pogba’s transfer. The Old Lady: Juventus Football Club and Paul Pogba have announced that they have mutually agreed to terminate their contract with effect from 30 November 2024.
The club wishes Paul the best of luck in his professional future.
Pogba explained in an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe last month that he is “not sure” whether his move to Olympique Marseille will reunite him with former Manchester United team-mate Mason Greenwood.
He is said to be in talks with the Ligue 1 club. “I’m smiling because it’s Uncle Pat (Patrick Evra). I said that as a joke. It’s still under contract, so it’s not clear.
“I am thinking of getting out of this situation because I have a club. Of course, never say never, because no one knows what will happen tomorrow.
Of course, Pogba has now parted ways with Juventus. Asked again by ESPN about his future, the Frenchman kept his cards close to his chest. He said: “My main focus at the moment is training. I will continue to train and do everything. “We are preparing with the aim of joining in January,” he said.
