COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2025 schedule is starting to take shape, and it could include a Friday game.
According to a report from ESPN, the Big Ten Conference is considering moving some of its games to Friday nights in 2025, and Ohio State could be one of the teams affected.
The Buckeyes have traditionally played their games on Saturdays, but the conference is looking to experiment with Friday night games to attract more viewers and create more excitement around the league.
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said that the school is open to the idea of playing a Friday game, but it would depend on the specific circumstances.
“We’re always looking for ways to promote our program and attract more fans,” Smith said. “If playing a Friday game makes sense for us and our opponents, then we’re open to it.”
The Buckeyes’ 2025 schedule is still in the process of being finalized, but it’s expected to include the usual suspects, including Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
Speaking of Wisconsin, former Buckeyes coach Luke Fickell is still dealing with the aftermath of his departure from Columbus.
Fickell, who is now the head coach at Wisconsin, has spoken publicly about the difficulties he faced during his time at Ohio State, including the challenges of following in the footsteps of legendary coach Jim Tressel.
However, it’s clear that Fickell still has some hard feelings about the way things ended for him in Columbus.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Fickell said that the experience of being a head coach at Ohio State was “a hardship that eats at him” to this day.
“It’s a tough place to be, and it’s a tough place to leave,” Fickell said. “But I’m proud of the way I handled myself, and I’m proud of the way my players responded to me.”
Fickell’s comments are a reminder that the world of college football can be a complex and emotional place, where coaches and players often have to navigate difficult circumstances and make tough decisions.
In other news, the Ohio State football team is gearing up for its annual spring game, which is set to take place on April 15.
The game will feature the Buckeyes’ current roster, including quarterback Kyle McCord and wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.
It’s expected to be a highly competitive game, with several players vying for starting spots and others looking to make a name for themselves.
“We’re excited to get out there and compete,” McCord said. “It’s going to be a fun game, and we’re looking forward to it.”
The spring game is a great opportunity for fans to get a glimpse of the Buckeyes’ current roster and see how the team is shaping up for the 2025 season.
It’s also a chance for the players to showcase their skills and make a case for themselves as starters.
Either way, it’s shaping up to be an exciting game, and Buckeye fans won’t want to miss it.
