COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Buckeyes have a rich history of producing talented quarterbacks, and five-star prospect Julian Sayin is looking to continue that tradition.

 

Sayin, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback from Carlsbad, California, enrolled at Ohio State in January and is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job in the fall.

 

Ohio State has a long history of producing talented quarterbacks, including five-star prospects like Terrelle Pryor, Braxton Miller, and Justin Fields. All three of those quarterbacks became stars in their second year with the Buckeyes, and Sayin is looking to follow in their footsteps.

 

“Julian is a talented quarterback with a strong arm and excellent athleticism,” said Ohio State head coach Ryan Day. “He’s still learning our system and getting comfortable with our offense, but we’re excited about his potential and think he has a bright future ahead of him.”

 

Sayin was one of the top quarterback prospects in the country in the class of 2023, and he chose Ohio State over other top programs like Alabama, Georgia, and USC.

 

“I chose Ohio State because of the tradition of excellence and the opportunity to compete for championships,” Sayin said. “I’m excited to be a part of the Buckeye family and to contribute to the team’s success in any way I can.”

 

Sayin is known for his strong arm and excellent athleticism, and he has been compared to other top quarterbacks like Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud.

 

“Julian has a lot of the same qualities that made Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud successful,” said Ohio State quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis. “He’s got a strong arm, he’s athletic, and he’s got a high football IQ. We’re excited to see him develop and grow as a quarterback.”
