FORT MYERS, FL – The Boston Red Sox have a decision to make at third base, and Alex Bregman is taking a “will play anywhere” approach to the debate.

The star infielder, who has been mentioned as a potential candidate to play third base, is open to playing wherever the team needs him.

“I’m just trying to help the team win,” Bregman said. “If that means playing third base, I’m happy to do it. If it means playing somewhere else, I’m happy to do that too.”

Bregman’s comments come as the Red Sox are trying to figure out who will play third base this season. The team has several options, including Rafael Devers, who has been the team’s primary third baseman for the past few seasons.

However, Devers has struggled defensively at third base, and the team is considering other options. Bregman, who has played primarily at shortstop and second base in his career, is one of those options.

“I think Alex is a guy who can play anywhere,” said Red Sox manager Alex Cora. “He’s a smart player, he’s a good defender, and he’s a great hitter. We’re lucky to have him on our team.”

Bregman’s willingness to play anywhere is a testament to his team-first mentality. He’s a player who is always looking for ways to help the team win, even if it means playing out of position.

“I think that’s one of the things that makes Alex so special,” said Cora. “He’s a guy who is always putting the team first. He’s a true leader, and we’re lucky to have him on our team.”

The Red Sox will continue to evaluate their options at third base as spring training progresses. However, one thing is clear: Alex Bregman is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win.

“I’m just trying to be a good teammate,” said Bregman. “If that means playing third base, I’m happy to do it. If it means playing somewhere else, I’m happy to do that too. I just want to help the team win.”
