‘I wish I had stayed’ – Former Manchester City striker admits he regrets move to Etihad Stadium

Former Manchester City striker Felix Correia has admitted he regrets moving to the Etihad Stadium club early in his career.

Manchester City, who joined the Premier League giants in 2019 after nine years of development through Sporting’s youth system, have opened a loan deal for Correia to join AZ for the 2019/20 season.

By the end of the season, Correia had appeared in 23 matches, scoring three goals and five assists.

Correa’s value remained relatively high, so he caught the eye of Serie A giants Juventus after joining City the following summer.

After agreeing to sign Felix Correia on a five-year deal in the summer of 2020, Manchester City and Juventus have agreed a deal that will see Pablo Moreno join the Premier League club in exchange for the deal.

In a recent interview with O Jogo, translated by Sport Witness, Felix Correia looked back on his links with Manchester City and revealed that he chose to stay at Sporting CP rather than move to the Etihad Stadium in 2019. “I would love to,” the 23-year-old admitted. “But these are completely different times.

The future of Sporting is viewed differently, the structure is different. – I will stay today.

Looking back on his decision at the time, Gil Vicente explained: “My way of thinking was completely different and I was able to live my own life by going abroad and have diverse experiences not only in the field but also in life”. ”

He continued: “I think it’s very important. In other words, I’m a completely different Felix today.”

Manchester City have continued their search for young talent for quite some time now and they seem to have no intention of slowing down anytime soon due to the efforts of the City football team.

Claudio Echeverri is expected to become the latest young name to join Pep Guardiola’s first team in the upcoming January transfer window after completing a loan deal with the Argentine giants.
