“It’s like a knife…” – Rodri has labeled the Liverpool veteran as the “toughest” PL opponent he has faced

Rodri had plenty of praise for the Liverpool man, who he faced on several occasions during his Manchester City career.

The 28-year-old, who won the Ballon d’Or last month, has made 13 appearances for Manchester United since arriving in England, recording five wins, five draws and three defeats for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Spain international suffered a cruciate ligament injury against Arsenal two months ago and is out for the rest of the season.

He recently appeared on a TV programme in his home country. Rodri had plenty of praise for Salah.

In a clip shared on Reddit by user phpHater0, the host asked Rhodri to name the toughest opponent of his career.

The Manchester City midfielder replied: “At the time it was Leo (Lionel Messi). I would say [Mo] Salah is the best player in the Premier League.

Especially when you go to Anfield, he comes out like a sword. He’s very difficult to play against.

Salah deserves Rodri’s support

Salah has scored in eight of his 13 games against Liverpool since Rodri joined Manchester City in the summer of 2019, so it’s easy to see why the Spaniard has picked the Reds superstar as his toughest opponent in the Premier League.

This small statistic also reveals a regularity that has a decisive impact against Egypt’s elite opponents. A 32-year-old flat is nothing more than a stat booster.

What makes the number 11 so fearsome is not only his goal percentage, but also his quick movement and outstanding football mentality, often surprising opponents with his instinctive skills.

Salah has achieved enough at the highest level of football to not need recognition from others, but he would certainly appreciate the praise of Rodri, who is in first place as this year’s Ballon d’Or winner!
