KNOXVILLE, TN – The University of Tennessee women’s basketball team’s 2025 recruiting class is making waves, with a dominating presence among the nominees for the McDonald’s All-American Game.

KNOXVILLE, TN – The University of Tennessee women’s basketball team’s 2025 recruiting class is making waves, with a dominating presence among the nominees for the McDonald’s All-American Game.

 

A total of five Tennessee commits have been nominated for the prestigious honor, which recognizes the top high school basketball players in the country. The nominees include:

 

– Aaliyah Moore, a 6-1 forward from Chicago, Illinois

– Sa’Myah Smith, a 6-1 guard from Fort Worth, Texas

– Tionna Herron, a 5-9 point guard from Indianapolis, Indiana

– Janiah Barker, a 6-3 post player from Birmingham, Alabama

– Amari DeBerry, a 6-5 forward from Barberton, Ohio

 

The McDonald’s All-American Game is considered one of the premier showcases for high school basketball talent, with many of its participants going on to become stars at the collegiate and professional levels.

 

“We’re thrilled to see our commits recognized among the best in the country,” said Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper. “These young women are not only talented players, but they’re also exceptional students and individuals. We can’t wait to welcome them to Rocky Top and see the impact they’ll make on our program.”

 

The Tennessee Lady Vols’ 2025 recruiting class is considered one of the top classes in the country, with all five commits ranked among the top 20 players in the nation by ESPN.

 

The class is highlighted by Aaliyah Moore, who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the country by ESPN. Moore is a versatile forward who can score, rebound, and defend at an elite level.

 

“Aaliyah is an incredible talent, and we’re so excited to have her join our program,” said Harper. “She’s got the potential to be a game-changer for us, and we’re looking forward to seeing her develop and grow as a player.”

 

The Tennessee Lady Vols are coming off a successful 2023-24 season, which saw them advance to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. With the addition of their talented 2025 recruiting class, the Lady Vols are poised to make another deep run in the tournament in the years to come.
