Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to sign 4-year NBA veteran, Reggie Bullock, to a regular contract, sources close to the situation have confirmed to (link unavailable)
Bullock, a 6-foot-7 small forward, has been playing for the Lakers on a 10-day contract, which is set to expire on March 10th. However, the team has been impressed with his performance and is expected to offer him a regular contract for the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old veteran has averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in his six appearances for the Lakers, shooting 45.5% from the field and 40.9% from three-point range.
Bullock’s signing is expected to provide the Lakers with much-needed depth and shooting on the wing, as they push for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The team has been plagued by injuries to key players, including LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and Bullock’s addition is seen as a key move to bolster their roster.
“Reggie has been a great addition to our team,” said Lakers head coach, Darvin Ham. “He’s a veteran player who knows how to play the game, and he’s been a great fit for our system. We’re excited to have him on board for the rest of the season.”
Bullock, who has also played for the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks, is expected to sign a contract for the remainder of the season, with a partial guarantee for next season.
The Lakers’ move to sign Bullock is seen as a key step in their push for a playoff spot, as they look to surround their stars with veteran players who can provide depth and experience.
“Reggie is a guy who can play both wings, and he’s a great shooter,” said Lakers general manager, Rob Pelinka. “He’s a veteran player who knows how to play the game, and we think he’ll be a great fit for our team.”
The Lakers are currently 39-25 on the season, and are sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference. With the addition of Bullock, they are looking to make a strong push for a playoff spot, and potentially make some noise in the postseason.
