LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Rams are in the market for a new quarterback, and one potential target has been linked with the Tennessee Titans.
According to a report from ESPN, the Rams are interested in signing quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is currently a free agent after spending the past three seasons with the Titans.
However, it appears that the Titans are also interested in re-signing Tannehill, which could complicate the Rams’ plans.
Tannehill, who will turn 36 in July, has been a solid starter for the Titans, leading the team to the playoffs in two of his three seasons with the team.
He has also been a productive quarterback, throwing for over 4,000 yards in each of his last two seasons, and tossing 33 touchdowns in 2022.
The Rams are in need of a new quarterback after Matthew Stafford announced his retirement earlier this month.
Stafford, who led the Rams to a Super Bowl championship in 2022, had been the team’s starter for the past two seasons, but decided to hang up his cleats after a 15-year career in the NFL.
The Rams have been linked to several potential quarterback targets, including Tannehill, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Jacoby Brissett.
However, it appears that Tannehill may be the team’s top target, given his experience and production over the past few seasons.
“Ryan Tannehill is a proven quarterback who can lead a team to the playoffs,” said Rams General Manager Les Snead. “We’re interested in talking to him and seeing if he’s a good fit for our team.”
However, the Rams will have to compete with the Titans for Tannehill’s services, which could drive up the price of a potential contract.
The Titans have already expressed interest in re-signing Tannehill, and it’s likely that they will make a strong push to keep him in Nashville.
“Ryan Tannehill is a key part of our team, and we want to keep him here,” said Titans General Manager Jon Robinson. “We’ll do everything we can to re-sign him and keep him as our quarterback.”
The Rams and Titans are not the only teams interested in Tannehill, as several other teams have also been linked to the veteran quarterback.
