Man City ‘devastated’ by injury to star ‘bigger than Rodri’ – pundit
Injuries to John Stones and Ruben Dias have done more damage to Man City’s recent lack of form than Rodri’s setback.
That’s according to former Man United and Blackburn Rovers chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected in football and exclusively told Football Insider that they are missing both of their first-choice defenders.
Pep Guardiola’s side have now suffered four consecutive defeats in all competitions, fuelling fears of a crisis at the Etihad amid several high-profile injuries.
The impact of Rodri’s absence has been well documented since he suffered a knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal earlier this season. However, Brown insisted Stones and Dias were missed as much, if not more, than the midfield and their return would mark a turnaround in City’s form.
