But with first-team injuries mounting and many of Guardiola’s players needing more rotation and rest as the Premier League champions continue to play at a faster pace, some wonder if McAtee will soon have a chance to shine.
Pep Guardiola spoke to James McAtee about the squad’s preparation to play Manchester City due to injuries and fitness issues during a recent press conference.
He pointed out that there is an opportunity. “Yes, that could happen,” the 53-year-old told the media.

James Makate acknowledged that he could learn every game today, without starting all clubs in the club.
