Premier League fixture against Everton postponed on safety grounds
Liverpool FC can confirm that today’s Premier League match against Everton at Goodison Park, scheduled to kick off at 12:30, has been postponed.
This is due to severe weather and strong winds, which have also caused significant disruption to travel in and around Merseyside.
Following a meeting of the Safety Advisory Group this morning at Goodison Park, attended by officials from both clubs and representatives from Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council, it was decided that “Due to the safety risk in the area and the Orange Warning for High Winds, which remains in force until 06:00 on Sunday, today’s match has been postponed for safety reasons.”
We understand this will be very disappointing for supporters, but the safety of fans, staff and players is of the utmost importance.
