Rodri received the 1995 Ballon d’Or trophy from winner and former City striker George Weah at a prestigious ceremony held at the Théâtre Châtelet in Paris.

 

The Ballon d’Or honor reflects Rodri’s dominance last season, with the midfielder beating top rivals such as Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior,Rodri received the 1995 Ballon d’Or trophy from winner and former City striker George Weah at a prestigious ceremony Jude Bellingham and compatriot Dani Carvajal to win the title.

Rodri will once again collect the Ballon d’Or trophy on the pitch ahead of next Saturday’s game against Tottenham, giving fans the chance to celebrate his incredible achievements.

As part of the celebrations, the club will be offering free prints of Rhodri’s shirts at the Etihad Stadium and Arndale Citystore ahead of the match on Saturday and Sunday.

Rodri is recovering from surgery on the cruciate ligament he injured during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal in Spain last September and this will be his first return to the Etihad.

 

His absence has coincided with a difficult period for Guardiola’s side, who have recently lost four in a row.
