Texas HC Steve Sarkisian Sends Clear Message on Ohio State Football
Austin, TX – Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian had a clear message for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team on Tuesday. Speaking at a press conference, Sarkisian praised the Buckeyes’ program, but also made it clear that the Longhorns are not intimidated by their upcoming matchup.
“Ohio State is a tremendous program with a rich tradition of success,” Sarkisian said. “They’re a team that’s used to winning, and they’ve got a lot of talented players on their roster. But we’re not afraid of them. We’re excited to go up to Columbus and compete against them.”
Sarkisian’s comments come as the Longhorns prepare to face off against the Buckeyes on September 17th. The game will be played at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and will be a key matchup in the non-conference schedule for both teams.
The Buckeyes are widely considered to be one of the top teams in the country, and are expected to be a major contender for the College Football Playoff. They return a number of talented players from last year’s team, including quarterback C.J. Stroud and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
But the Longhorns are not intimidated by the Buckeyes’ talent or their reputation. Sarkisian’s team has been working hard in the offseason to prepare for the upcoming season, and they’re confident that they can compete with anyone.
“We’re not going to back down from anyone,” Sarkisian said. “We’re going to go out there and compete to the best of our ability. We’re going to play with heart, with passion, and with a never-say-die attitude. And we’re going to see what happens.”
Sarkisian’s comments were echoed by his players, who are also confident that they can compete with the Buckeyes.
“We’re not afraid of Ohio State,” said Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. “We know they’re a great team, but we also know that we’ve got the talent and the ability to compete with them. We’re going to go out there and give it our all, and see what happens.”
The matchup between the Longhorns and the Buckeyes is expected to be one of the most highly-anticipated games of the non-conference season. Both teams have a lot to prove, and both teams are hungry for a win.
