The Texas Longhorns have a rich tradition of producing top-notch NFL talent, and it appears that trend will continue in the 2025 draft.
In the latest mock draft from OnSI, three Longhorns were selected as first-round picks, highlighting the program’s depth and talent.
Leading the way for the Longhorns is quarterback Quinn Ewers, who is projected to be selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 10th overall pick. Ewers, a former five-star recruit, has been impressive in his time at Texas, showcasing his strong arm, accuracy, and mobility.
“Quinn Ewers is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the draft,” said OnSI draft analyst, Connor Livesay. “He’s got all the physical tools, and he’s shown the ability to make plays with his legs and arm. He’s a great fit for the Panthers, who need a franchise quarterback.”
Joining Ewers in the first round is wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who is projected to be selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 22nd overall pick. Worthy, a dynamic playmaker, has been a key contributor to the Longhorns’ offense, showcasing his speed, agility, and ball skills.
“Xavier Worthy is one of the most explosive players in the draft,” said Livesay. “He’s got the ability to take the top off a defense, and he’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He’s a great fit for the Packers, who need a playmaker on the outside.”
Rounding out the trio of Longhorns selected in the first round is defensive tackle, Keondre Coburn, who is projected to be selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 28th overall pick. Coburn, a dominant force in the middle of the defensive line, has been a key contributor to the Longhorns’ defense, showcasing his strength, power, and athleticism.
“Keondre Coburn is one of the most talented defensive tackles in the draft,” said Livesay. “He’s got the ability to dominate in the middle of the defensive line, and he’s a threat to disrupt opposing offenses. He’s a great fit for the Chiefs, who need a strong presence in the middle of their defensive line.”
The selection of three Longhorns in the first round of the OnSI mock draft is a testament to the program’s strength and depth. It’s a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and staff, and it’s a source of pride for the entire Texas football community.
“We’re proud of our players and the success they’ve had on the field,” said Texas head coach, Steve Sarkisian. “We’re excited to see them take the next step and pursue their dreams in the NFL.”
