The award, which recognizes Coach Caldwell’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to empowering women through basketball, was presented during a special ceremony at Thompson-Boling Arena.

 

“It’s an incredible honor to receive this award from three of the greatest players in Lady Vols history,” said Coach Caldwell, visibly moved by the recognition. “I’m humbled to be part of a legacy that has inspired countless young women to pursue their dreams in basketball and beyond.”

 

Candace Parker, Chamique Holdsclaw, and Tamika Catchings, all of whom played under the legendary Pat Summitt, took turns praising Coach Caldwell’s tireless efforts to promote women’s basketball and empower young women through the sport.

 

“Coach Caldwell embodies the spirit of the Lady Vols program,” said Candace Parker, a two-time NCAA champion and WNBA MVP. “She’s a true leader who inspires her players to be their best selves, both on and off the court.”

 

Chamique Holdsclaw, a three-time NCAA champion and six-time WNBA All-Star, echoed Parker’s sentiments. “Coach Caldwell is a trailblazer in every sense of the word. She’s breaking down barriers and paving the way for future generations of women’s basketball players.”

 

Tamika Catchings, a four-time Olympic gold medalist and 10-time WNBA All-Star, added, “Coach Caldwell’s passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence are qualities that make her an outstanding coach and mentor. She’s an inspiration to us all.”
